Churchill Camp is back in Arromanches!
5 to 7 June 2026: Camp Churchill comes to Arromanches
To mark the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, the town of Arromanches-les-Bains is once again hosting the immersive Camp Churchill experience. Over three days, this commemorative event invites visitors on a journey back in time. This will bring them closer to the historical reality of the 1940s.
An immersion in the heart of history
Located in the iconic setting of the former presbytery (4, Avenue de Mountbatten), Camp Churchill aims to be a living conservatory of memory. Far from a simple static exhibition, the site will come alive thanks to the presence of numerous re-enactors dedicated to passing on history.
The public will be able to discover different scenographic spaces:
- Military bivouacs: A comparison of British and German installations. They will allow visitors to compare the equipment and daily life of soldiers at the front.
- Civilian life under the Occupation: A focus on the resilience of the local population and the atmosphere of the 1940s in Normandy.
- Scenes from everyday life: Reenactment of simple but essential moments that marked the year of the Liberation.
- Musical entertainment
This event is organised by the D-Day Museum and Normandy Soldiers Memory with the participation of Les Colverts, D-Day Academy, USARG, Cherbourg 44, The 51st Highland Division Memorial and The Irvin Squadron.
