MKIII helmet

MKIII helmet introduced in 1943 and issued to certain British and Canadian units on the eve of the Landings. The helmet's shape differs from previous models, providing the soldier with better head protection, especially in the nape of the neck. Its peculiar shape gave it its nickname, the “Turtle shell”.
